Studio J Architects have submitted a planning application for five new build houses in Wakefield.

The site, on the outskirts of the city, currently has a bungalow on it surrounded by a generous garden. The proposal is to demolish the existing property and construct a row of 5 new build houses.

These new build houses in Wakefield will each have; 4 bedrooms (3 being doubles), 2 bathrooms to the upper floors and an open plan kitchen-dining-living room on the ground floor. The houses are built over 3 floors, with the master bedroom and en-suite within the roof space.

Externally, the houses each have off road parking on the drive for 2 cars at the front, with private lawned gardens to the rear.

The brief was for a cost effective and simple build. As such, the houses are all identically designed as a row of terraces. For the external elevations, the pallet of materials is uncomplicated. With brick to the ground floor and render to the first floor. To bring architectural interest there are stone sills and lintels along with a mid level stone band.

We are looking forward to the planning decision in around 2 months time.
