Modern glazed extension

Construction is nearing completion of our modern glazed extension in Leeds. The project in Horsforth, north Leeds, includes the full renovation and remodelling of a dated cottage. Turning it into a larger modern family home.

The property lies within the conservation area. However with careful design we were able to navigate a positive outcome with the planners. The single storey modern glazed extension accommodates the kitchen. This links into an open plan kitchen-dining-living room.  The feature glazing has been carefully detailed and installed to maximise the views into the large garden and give a contemporary feel to the extension.

The flat roof has an aluminium clad soffit detail. This gives a crisp junction between the roof and the glazing and stone walls.

Internally there are other modern details throughout the property, while still keeping the traditional feel of the cottage.

The internal fitout is well underway and the client should be moving back into their “new” home in the next few weeks.
