This exciting project is for a large new build luxury home. The client loves traditional design and we have used this to inform the new house both internally and externally. The main building footprint of 900m² is split over 3 floors, with the accommodation consisting of 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, snooker room, large kitchen, 3 further reception rooms and ancillary accommodation. The entrance hall is a large double height room with sweeping staircase and first floor gallery. High end finishes are to be used throughout, along with feature open fires, ornate plasterwork to the walls and ceilings, and traditional design window seats.
Adjacent to the main house there is also a new separate garage block for 5 vehicles, during the construction this will be converted to be suitable for the family to temporarily live in.
Care has been taken to ensure the building will have as low as possible heating bills. Within the 600mm thick walls high levels of insulation will be provided, significantly above the standard guidance. The building’s heating is via air source heat pumps and solar panels on the garage block roof, with large areas of underfloor heating predominantly in the larger spaces.
Planning and building regulations have been approved; unfortunately construction has been postponed due to ill health of the client.
