Leeds extension

It is always nice to revisit clients a few years after finishing their project to see how they are getting on with their home. We completed this Leeds extension in 2017 and seeing them 7 years later it was great to hear they are still loving their home.

The requirements for the client was to create a modern home for their multi-generational family. This involved rooms the family could come together, but also retreat to their own spaces.

The existing house was previously very dated. There would be a need for significant extensions to create all the space they wanted. Along with remodelling and refurbishing the internal layout.

The client also liked the idea of externally keeping a more traditional look to the front of the house, while contrasting this with a more modern extension at the rear.

A key aspect of getting the layout to this Leeds extension to work was the repositioning of the stairs. This allowed the existing hall way to be extended into the extension. Giving a view all the way through to the garden as you enter the house. This is enhanced with feature glazing to bring more light into the property.

The rear extension accommodate an open plan kitchen-dining-living room where all the family can congregate. This space is linked to the garden with lots of glazing including bi-fold doors plus a feature corner window.

To give some separation, while still keeping the open plan feel. There is a central, stone clad, through fireplace.

To the rest of the property there is another living room, office, WC, utility and garage. Along with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
