Barn conversions

Barn conversions start on site

View all news

Construction work has started on site for our barn conversions in a beautiful rural setting near Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The first part of the project was to build a new garage / store. This is complete with purpose built-in bat roosts within the walls. The new garage block had to be built first, as currently bats are using the old barn roofs to roost in. In order to strip the barn roofs the new roosts had to be in place at the appropriate time in the bat season. Otherwise we would have had to wait another year to continue with the build!

The existing barns have now had the roofs stripped and the internals are also being cleared. As they were derelict, having not been used for many years, they are in need of a lot of TLC to bring them back to life.

When finished the barn conversions hill accommodate 5 holiday lets. These range from 2 to 5 bedrooms, all with open plan kitchen-dining-living rooms. Also on the site there will be another barn conversion for the owners 3 bed house.

Construction work to transform these old agricultural buildings into luxury holiday accommodation will take some time. Once the new roofs are on, to make the buildings more weathertight. Work will continue on each unit at a time. Painstakingly restoring the existing masonry and bringing the building up to current standards. We are looking forward to seeing the project progress over the coming months.
